Move with the music in a high-energy, immersive dance session set to bass-driven beats. No routines, no expectations—just a space to let go, tune into the rhythm, and move however feels right. Whether you're into festivals, nightlife, or just love to dance, this is for you.

Submerge is inspired by our favorite moments at events like Burning Man, Lightning in a Bottle, High Vibes and many others. We aim to bring the amazing experience of being present and moving to great music to a bi-monthly practice right here in Santa Cruz.

We are cultivating a space where you can come and feel free to dance. To do this, Submerge is requesting you show up as...

Safe. You're free to dance! Which means everyone else is free to dance too - and that also means a lot of respect around entering someone's space. Dancing with someone occurs when both people want to dance, and if there is no clear "yes" to a dance, that means "no". Many people choose to go deep into their own experience, so don't be offended! A "no" can turn to a "yes" at a different time perhaps, or a "yes" can turn to a "no" at any moment. It's not personal (never is...).

Present. This is a chance for people to go deep, which means everyone has to have solid awareness of what is going on around them. So please - do not be in any way intoxicated at this event - skip any alcohol or drugs.

Distraction Free.
Talk Free. To allow everyone to dance and drop in to the moment.
Fragrance free. That goes from perfumes to scented shampoos to body odor. PLEASE CONTROL BODY ODOR by showering before you come to the event.
Phone and picture free. Please silence phones and leave them outside the dance space.

As Part of the Journey. Part of a truly great dance experience is being in the same "zone" as the other dancers. Let's help create this by being on time to the event. The doors will close half an hour after the event start - if you are late, please understand why we will turn you away after this time.

Respectful. It's an honor to have an amazing space that people have spent a lot of time creating. As part of respect for the space, please work to keep everything a little better than you find it. Also it's important that we have no shoes, no glass or open bottles, and no food in the dance space.

The intention of Submerge is to bring great DJs to Santa Cruz and to pay them as fairly as possible. As such, the organizers of this event are not paid for their time or effort.
